Iphone 7 & 7plus (September)
As always the hype for the new iPhone brings a lot more rumour than fact and we’re all wondering how Apple is going to revolutionise technology this year. There’s been talk about swapping the home button for a touch-sensitive piece and removing the headphone jack altogether. Expected features include a thinner design, dual-lens camera and an upgraded processor.
Sony PlayStation VR (March)
PlayStation VR, once known as Project Morpheus, is Sony’s Virtual Reality release. Unlike the PC-based Oculus and Vive helmets, PlayStation VR works with Sony’s PlayStation 4. It shows two sets of images, one for the headset and one for a TV, making it a lot more group orientated. Its’ audio clarity and OLED display make this one of the best VR experiences on the market.
Apple Watch 2 (March)
The Apple Watch 2 has a lot to live up to, the features we were expecting to see just weren’t practical with the limited battery life, resulting in a disappointing response. The new Apple Watch is said to have a longer battery life with more features like; Siri, health centre, water proofing, seamless integration and a FaceTime camera. Designers also say that this version will move away from the bright colours and 90’s tech feel. This time we’re expecting something a lot more stylish.
Meem Cable (February)
Poor phone battery and the threat of data loss are now just facts of modern life. But, the British brand MEEM are changing the way we store our files. They have launched the world’s first combined phone charger and back-up cable. Compatible with both Android and iPhone the cable doesn’t need an Internet connection and or a cloud-based storage system. All your data is stored offline within the cable itself, just plug it into the mains and back up your files.
Fitbit Blaze (May)
Fitbit unveiled its “smart fitness watch,” hoping to get into the growing smartwatch market. The company, which leads the wearable tech market is now being challenged by the rise of various smartwatch releases from Apple and Samsung.
