Happy New You!

blog_insert_450x450It’s 2017 and time to hit the floor running. You don’t want to repeat the mistakes of 2016 so soon, right?

New year resolutions are hard to keep, but with some simple tips, you could sail right through them.

Take it easy on yourself
When it comes to keeping resolutions, no matter what they are, there’s nothing to it but to do it. Start small and set mini resolutions along the way.
Usually, the reason they fall by the wayside is that we set mammoth tasks for ourselves, and expect to succeed at the first attempt. To quote a well-known, silver-maned Asian man, the journey of a thousand steps begins with one step.

Don’t throw all your eggs in one basket, yet.
If your resolution is something you’ve never done before, it’s likely you don’t have the required equipment or tools for it, and those don’t come cheap. That shouldn’t stop you from trying, though!

Say you want to take up surfing. Why don’t you dip your proverbial toe in the water before diving in? You could start by renting out a board and swimsuit from a local vendor. Once you find you’re getting the hang of it, you could buy all the equipment you need 2nd hand on OLX. And after you’re sure you’ve got this thing waxed, excuse the pun, you could invest further. Starting something new is always a gamble, but rather make the smart bet.

Lead yourself not into temptation
You’ve decided you’re going to start eating healthy from now one. No more deep-fried distractions. But, you can hear that fryer’s siren call from the cupboard underneath the stove and memories of crumbed chicken dinners past make your mouth water. Well, there’s no better time to sell it! You don’t need detractors from you becoming the best self you strive to be. And on top of that, selling your unwanted goods on OLX will give you extra cash in your pocket.

Whether your resolution is to cook more often, get fit or pick up a new hobby, these three tips will help you move forward with whatever you’ve set for yourself. We wish you a wonderful 2017.
